How do you ad Google adSense and that Amazon thing that is similar?

Hello, I am technically challenged and am unsure how to add Google adsense to my WordPress. I tried to sign up for Google adsense and attach it to my WordPress but it would not let me. I am very frustrated, and hopeful that someone can help. Thank you.

The only advertising program at WordPress.com is called WordAds and it’s for blogs on their own domains that have enough traffic to qualify for acceptance into the plan.
