How do you add a picture once it’s been uploaded?
-
I read the directions, but they just don’t make sense. I tried to upload and place a picture in the post using the Media Library. Well, the pics are there, so how do I get them into the post? It says click on the picture, and it will give you options. I see the placement options, but not how to actually load it into the post.
Plus, whenever I try to use the media library option, it totally goes across my screen and I can’t see anything.

In the visual editor, to the right of “add media” click on the little square. In the window that comes up, click on media library. Find the image you wish to send to the editor. When the window opens, change whatever settings you wish and then scroll down a little ways and there will be an “insert into post” button. Click that and it will send it to the editor. If the image doesn’t insert exactly where you want it, click on the image in the editor to highlight it and drag it to where you want it.
-
When I try to do that with my blog, sometimes it doesn’t even want to load the picture.. and then when it does, it will either not “show” me the picture, or if it does will not add it to the post even though I hit the “insert into post” button. And the ONE time it did…. the white box would not go away no matter what I did.
-
The problem is that the window that comes up only has a place to upload from your computer, or to link to elsewhere. It doesn’t have nav bars. I can see that there is something further up on that window, but I can’t get there. Is this because I’m using Firefox?

It could be that it will take a few more hours for things to completely settle down, and I’m certain staff will be working for as long as they need to to get everything ironed out.
One thing I’ve noticed is that it takes longer for an image to show up in the editor once you send it. I do know staff is working on the image upload area from what they said in another thread, so what you are experiencing could be related to that.
I’m sort of guessing a little since I can’t see what they are doing.

O.K., I got to the top of it by doing an F11 so I could see it. I got the picture into the page, and it’s in the right place. Can I put a linked caption under it?
-
You will have to put the caption in as a text link under it. There is no official “caption” feature here for photos.

thesacredpath, I’m trying to place a series of thumbnails across the top of my post, as usual, and they won’t go like they used to, to the top of page and right of the last one. And I can’t drag and drop them, they keep reverting to the left side and down the page.
Also, I’d like to be able to load a series of images at the same time instead of one at a time. It’s time consuming sitting here doing more than a few. Is this possible?
Is this what the gallery is supposed to do? I know there’s a screencast on the new Gallery but my sound card is buggered.
Any suggestions? Besides get a new sound card that is.

I’ve done everything I’m supposed to and have images in my media library. Can make the selections for whatever changes I want. Then when I click on “Insert into post” nothing happens after that. No image ever appears in the editor. What’s going on?

And you can’t get rid of that white bopx even though nothing happens without using the back button in the browser.
-
I’m having the same trouble. The images won’t not into the post. I can get them to load though. Then when i go back it they aren’t showing up as having been downloaded previously. I hope they fix this soon!

Those who find that the ‘Insert Into Post’ button has no effect:
Please try opening the javascript error console in your browser, and see if an error message appears there when you click the button.
In Firefox, that’s Tools / Error Console.
In Safari, option-command-C (but I think you need to turn on debugging first).

I welcome the ability to upload multiple photos almost like a dream come true or prayers answered :). However, that feature seems to tie in with the new Gallery feature which I don’t want. I would like to be able to batch send them to the editor using a master setting of:
Link URL: NONE | Size: Full Size
Yes, I meant once batch uploaded and given the option to also batch send to editor (not gallery) and I can reposition the images in the editor easily using Cut and Paste method. I am already doing it now after each of the images were tediously sent one by one.
Also the new Add Media window would be better if resizable.

There isn’t even an Insert Into Post button on mine any more. I cannot open the picture for any editing. You can see the top part of the photo below a line but you cannot do anything with it.
There was nothing wrong with the way it was before. The old saying goes, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Why did they try to fix something that wasn’t broken?
-
In Firefox, that’s Tools / Error Console.
Yes. Whenever I click on anything media related there are a whole slew of warnings, not errors. Firefox has its own issues related to scripts and Adobe Flash Shockwave that cause the browser to lock up and not respond to simply tasks like click on a new tab in the browser.
I’m ready to go back to IE.

This is maddening. I can’t add photos to my posts anymore. I admit I’m a computer moron, but I used to be able to manage my own blog. The little photo icon is there, but when I click on it, it’s blank. We use a lot of photos on my blog, I’d like to continue doing that.
I don’t see anything new on this update, I don’t know why you bothered. And the font on the comments page it TOO SMALL.

I too cannot get any response when I click “Insert into Post” button within my gallery of uploaded pictures. A blank page comes up and nothing appears in the post. Help!
Uploading in bulk is an advantage but only if it carries through to placing pictures easily within the post. -
I don’t know if this helps, but it definitely relates:
