How do you add gallery tag in wordpress.com?

  My website is a customized portfolio wordpress.com site and I’m wondering how to add gallery tags to my galleries? I tried a couple different way but it still doesn’t work, and it doesnt give the option to add any tags when I upload pictures as well. Thanks!
