How do you add 'Random Posts' to Sidebar?
-
How do i add a list of random posts to the sidebar on my blog just like the theme feature in INove? I am using wordpress.com not .org so I dont have plugins.
Before you say this has been answered before (Timethief) then close the thread, I am NOT talking about a single link to a random page like this
I am looking for a list version, like recent posts but random. I don’t know php so maybe there is a way to change the display count in the code? I don’t know. Any help is appreciated.

Hi. Apparently, the random posts widget is only part of iNove’s default set of widgets only.

Ok there has to be a way lol. I think this page is claiming it can be done but idk how to work the code.. or this might just be for .org idk
http://www.astro-geek.com/2009/01/wordpress-random-posts-without-a-plugin/Some people mentioned using an image for random posts.. anybody have an example of that?

Hmm I meant on a blog but i think thats still a “click here for random post” widget anyway.
Is this well totally dry? An impossible feat?

Allow me to be blunt. If you are solution orientated posting here is a time waster. Create one and try it! Go to the sidebar and find ask the oracle! http://raincoastermedia.com/

Gotcha. Same thing as click here for random page. I thought you had a solution for random post list. I had actually already browsed your blog and clicked on that lol.
So back to original question, any other ideas? Anyone coded something similar manually?

There is no random post list widget here and no way to incorporate the code necessary to do one as it would take PHP script and we cannot use that here for security reasons.
