How do you assign someone new to assume administrator function

  Subject: I need your Help!

  My wife, Mary, is a member of the South Whidbey Spinners who have a web site developed by Petra Martin utilizing WordPress. The web site is woefully outdated as she advises, “I haven’t touched the site in ages, …”

  One of the SWS leaders, Shirley Owen, asked my wife if she knew of anyone to update and maintain the web site as referenced in the following message written to Petra:

  Subject: Hello

  Shirley contacted me about the SWSpinners web, we will take it on later in Sept. What do we need from you to get to it or shall we just start a new?

  Petra responded almost immediately:

  Sent: Saturday, September 10, 2011 12:00 PM
  To: ‘MB Donaty’
  Subject: RE: Hello
  I’ll just add you as an administrator, and then you can delete me (I can’t delete my own self when I’m logged on).

  You should receive two emails from WordPress:
  1. Inviting you to be a user/administrator for southwhidbeyspinners.wordpress.com
  2. Changing the contact email for southwhidbeyspinners.wordpress.com from me to you.

  However – The WordPress.com Team message and the #1 statement immediately above, in my opinion, have a completely different meaning and without a User Name and Password for the SWS Blog/Web-Site, I believe I am at a dead end.

  Is ther a way for me – Mary Donaty or [Lou Donaty] to assume responsibility and administrator rights to the South Whidbey Spinners Blog/Web-SIte?

  Whoever the current Admin of the site needs to add you as a user – then they promote you to Editor or Admin.
