How do you back up your work?

I was told that I should back up all the work that I have done and save it to my computer.

    How do I do that?

    Thanks in advance :)

Go to your dashboard, and on the left sidebar you go all the way down to “tools” under “Appearance” and “Users”. Scroll over tools and it will say “export”, click on that. Now you can download a full export file of all your settings and blog data, and if you ever lose your blog, you can always import that file under tools as well, and voila, you’re back!
I have a photography blog, so I export about once a month at the least to make sure my wordpress doesn’t crash or anything.

There are a lot of services that make you pay to backup your wordpress, but exporting everything in a tiny file is much easier.

    Happy blogging!

    Two important facts:
    – The backup does not include images. It’s only designed to transfer a blog from one place to the other.
    – WordPress.com already backs up all of your data (including images) regularly.

Personally I see no need in backing up the information, but if having an XML file gives you a feeling of security, so be it :-)

    Right.
I have my best images backed up online. I just like to download all of my WordPress bulk data, like settings and other stuff I tediously designed to fit my personal needs.
