How do you cancel a domain on recurring charge?
-
Please can anyone help here?
I wish to cancel the domain for one of my blogs. I have tried to find this before and failed. This morning I have received a claim on my PayPal account for the year and I have looked again and yet again I can find no way of cancelling, only the ability to upgrade. I want to cancel this domain and would like WordPress to cancel/not complete the PayPal claim they have made today for £22 for the coming year. I no longer wish to continue with this blog and I am happy to leave the content up as a free WordPress site for now. I have cancelled the recurring Paypal charge authorisation today but after the claim has been made by WP. It shows as pending:
‘This is a temporary authorisation to make sure your funding source will cover the payment. Your funding source will be charged when WordPress.com completes your order.’
The Jan 17 “receipt” has now disappeared from my payment history, does this mean it’s been cancelled?
I am not sure if it is their intention to make cancellation difficult or if it is an oversight on their part but the pages related to this go round in circles. In ‘billing history’ is says ‘go to purchases to add or cancel a plan’ and when you do you are given an upgrade page only. Clicking on this then gives upgrade options and only if you scroll down enough can you see ‘Can I cancel my subscription?’ and clicking on this then takes you back to the upgrade page ‘Looking to upgrade?’ Not helpful at all. -
To add to the above, my domain did and still does not show the option for cancellation on what appears to be the relevant page according to the relevant help page. Can anyone shed light here please?
