How do you change the layout of a slideshow?
-
I’d like to change the layout of a slideshow. Right now, the image is large and the caption is at the bottom. It looks sloppy because longer captions overflow below bottom of the photo. The text also gets lost and I’d like for it to be featured much more prominently. Ideally, I’d love to have the photo and caption in two equal-sized boxes, next to each other horizontally. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi Haley!
That’s going to be a bit of a tricky modification. There isn’t a set gallery option that will display like you describe. If you would like, you could attempt to modify the current slideshow layout via CSS. However, that may not be possible to have it exactly like you want. I would recommend posting the question in the CSS forum here:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization
We have some CSS experts in there that will let you know the best code moving forward.
As for other options, if you would like, you could try to use another gallery type besides a slideshow as shown here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/#examples-of-gallery-styles
In a few of our gallery types, the captions appear at the bottom of the image when you hover over them, but they’re a bit more visible than the slideshow captions. Would any of those additional styles work?
