How do you change the order of the categories in the sidebar?

    Ok, so I have 4 categories on my site. There is a specific order I wanted them listed in from top to bottom on the sidebar, but it defaults to alphabetical order, is there a way to change this?

    Friendly reminder that we’re all volenteers around here. You’ll note that I am currently going through and answering as many posts as I can currently. That you for insulting the work that I do around here. If you can’t wait for someone to respond in less than 4 hours, then I politely suggest hiring a 24/7 support staff and having them at your beck and call. You will note that there are other folks here trying to get help and they are just important as you are.

    Now, having said that, I have taken a look at your blog and, no, you don’t have four categories listed on it, you have one. Not sure exactly what you are trying to do (since you don’t give us the order you want them in either) but I will offer the suggestion that you copy and paste the links out of the category widget and place them in the order that you want them in. Some themes default to listing the categories in alphabetical order, other themes use different methods.

    Use a text widget instead of the category widget if you want a specific order.

    Or rename your categories so that the alphabetical order is the way you want it to be.

    all categories are displayed alphabetically.

    What? What’d I say? It ahd been 3 hours, no one responded, I only assumed, I only have the highest respect for WP and its community, they’ve already helped me out countless times.

    And uhh…yeah, I don’t know what blog you’re reading, but I definitely have 4 man…if you’re referring to that gizzedinc thing, that site is long dead, a collaboration with a guy I don’t work with.

    Allright, so I want to make my own Categories section in the sidebar by using the text sidebar widget as suggested above. How do I put links to the respective catageory pages in the text sidebar widget? I tried using the generic html link tag [url=http://…]text[/url], but that didn’t work.
