How do you create a custom widget area?

    I would like to create a custom widget area for the home page. I want it to have recent posts as well as some static posts. Please help me- I have tried youtubing it already. Thank you

    Hi there,

    You wouldn’t be able to create a custom widget area, but you can add the widgets you wanted in the allotted areas. The Sela theme has 7 widget areas:

    Main Sidebar appears on the right in blog view and on pages, using the default template.
    Three optional footer widget areas.
    Three optional widget areas on the Front Page Template.

    Within those areas, you can add the Recent Posts widget. As for the static posts, I’m a bit confused to what that means. Do you mean static pages? You can add a Text Widget and just link to those pages if you wish.
