How do you customize you website icon?

  Hello, I have made a website using your free .wordpress.com option. As I was working on it my friend and I were wondering if there was any way to change the icon for the website. Thank you for your help.

  Yes, on WordPress.com they call it a Blavatar, and you can learn how to do that on this page:
