How do you delete an expired domain?
-
Hi,
One of the domain names that redirects to my website expired over a month ago, which I assumed would mean that I just ceased to own that domain name and it would no longer redirect anyone to my website. The domain was “sanssheriffmusic.com” and it was mapped as a secondary domain. I don’t understand why, but when I go to my primary domain, “sanssheriff.co.uk”, it tells me that my blog’s domain expired, but then goes on to say that because the secondary domain expired, the primary domain was deactivated until I renew or cancel the secondary one, which doesn’t make logical sense to me. Why would having an inactive secondary domain have any effect on the primary one?
I’ve tried cancelling the secondary domain, but with no luck (it just says “cancellation pending” and has done for over a week). If you could help me out with this issue, and perhaps explain why the system works in this odd way, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi there!
Sorry about that. This is a known bug that the developers are working on.
Domain expiration is a lengthy process that lasts about 80 days. So we don’t immediately remove the expired subscriptions from your account.
Since the domain was originally registered by a different user, I need permission from them before I remove these subscriptions. I’ve sent them an email to confirm, but you can also ask them to follow up in this thread.

Hello!
I just got confirmation from the other user. I’ve removed the expired subscriptions and you should be good to go.
Let me know if I can help with anything else! :)
