How do you disable the 'improved editor' ?
-
I keep getting a message while drafting ‘There’s an easier way to create on WordPress.com. Switch to the improved editor’, and sometimes when navigating the admin area of my blog I’m sent to a really weird mobile-looking version of WordPress, which I think is part of this ‘improved’ thing. I just want to know how to disable it. It’s hard for me to understand, and seems to be lacking features. I just want to use WordPress unhindered.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
I just want to know how to disable it. It’s hard for me to understand, and seems to be lacking features. I just want to use WordPress unhindered.
It is lacking features. And you are not alone if you find using the Calypso interface to be confusing, troublesome, vexing, and an enormous waste of time.

Okay, thank-you for your reply musicdoc1.
I was already able to get back to the classic editor if I wanted by using the wp-admin link in the meta component in the footer of my blog. But that wasn’t good enough for me. The redirecting to that modern thing still upset me.
Using your comment as a prompt, I was able to discover that the most viable work-around is the script offered on this page, though I’ve also installed the script that prevents the message mentioned in my OP from showing.

Yes, that’s the script I’ve been using for about a year and a half. It’s pretty reliable. Usually it redirects imperceptibly, but occasionally I find an edit link will slip into Calypso for a second or two before redirecting to WP Admin. I haven’t tried the other link you mention, because I do use Calypso sometimes while assisting others in the forums.
