How do you do: “Read More”
-
Hi,
I am new to blogging, so excuse the noob question(s). I wanted to know how to do the following:
I see some people have blogs where they have a 100 line post, but on their main page, only the first 20 lines show up with a link at the end that says “Read More”. This link takes the reader to the full post. Then the next post starts and does the same. To me, this is a nice way to keep the front page clean.
My attempts at replicating this have proven futile!
Please help!
Thanks!

sorry..i also confuse…its work only at front page…how about i want to add the read more button on my page?

It will only work on the front page. Once they are on the page for that specific blog post, there is no need for it and thus it will not work.

For pages, use the “next page” tag which is explained in this FAQ: http://faq.wordpress.com/2008/05/27/next-page/
