How do you embed shockwave flash videos?

The normal shortcode way I’ve been recommended does not seem to work with this type of video. Here is the code.

It uses flashvars. Also if you go to the videocenter player, you will notice when you select different videos, the URL of your page does not change. It always stays http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console
In fact the only way you get a url for each video is to click “share” and then they will give you the URL for the specific video. But going from video to video, your page URL does not change. All the videos appear to load within the NHL Videocenter application powered by neulion I think. So maybe that changes things. I have another topic on this but I didn’t realize there were major differences between these videocenter flash videos and the normal ones, not to mention the other topic has gotten extremely cluttered and complicated. I’m looking for new help in a fresh topic.

If you read my post, you’d know the reason I created a new one. I doubt others looking to help will find it easy to jump into a thread with so many long posts in it already, many of them filled with code that they’d have to read to catch up on where we’re at in the thread. So far, without reading any of my actual posts, you have linked to a tutorial that doesn’t work, and then linked to my old thread despite me specifically stating I wanted a new one. By the way, I changed the old thread to “resolved” (even though it isn’t) so that it will disappear soon off the front page, leaving only this thread. It will be like the other thread never existed. Now please either help me with this issue, which first requires actually reading the post about the problem, or just leave it alone.

That code works when you look at it, but trying pressing the play button, the video doesnt actually play (for me, anyway).

Wait no. Doesn’t work. The video and the play button shows up but once you click it, the video just goes black and the video never plays. But it’s closer… Maybe you’re just missing the last part? the video playing part.
But thank you for trying to help. I created the new thread so people other than yourself could try to help as well (given they probably dont want to read through all this all at once to catch up). But if you can help me resolve the issue yourself there’s no need for other people. You’ve definitely gotten closer here. I think there’s probably just one last part that needs to be added. Do you have any idea what that would be?

We (wpgaurav) have gotten that far, but if you go to that link, you’ll notice when you click play, the video doesn’t play. Everything else is good, just not the playing part. The code used there is listed above in wpgaurav’s post.
Do you have an idea of what’s misisng there that the video won’t play?

THIS IS STILL UNRESOLVED
Wpgaurav seems to have abandoned helping me right when we were getting somewhere.This is where we are at right now. This code puts the video on my page, with the play button and everything, but when you click play, the video does not play, the video box just goes black. Something is clearly still missing from the code. PLEASE HELP!!!

You will have to wait for Panos to wander through as he is the gigya guru. The gigya shortcode can sometimes be tricky. I’ve tried three different times and cannot get it to play.

For this particular blog I’m thinking maybe I could do it without embedding these flash videos from videocenter, but still I would like the option of course. But for a hockey blog, these are where everyone links to, this is where all the goals and the game highlights are stored. So even if I find away around it for this blog, this is still important for my blog I be able to do this.

Also, another thing to note that’s maybe causing the problems, the videocenter, when you go there to watch highlights, every eighth or so highlight you pick automatically triggers an ad video playing instead of the highlight that you have to wait (there’s the 15 second countdown until the ad ends and you can go on viewing more highlights and all). It’s possible this is the problem but i doubt it.

Just to update people, I have gotten one update from Panos on his shortlink wordpress page saying you usually just do it a certain way, but the embed code videocenter gave me is actually incorrect. So they don’t give the correct embed code. Panos did not tell me what the correct code is or what is missing from the code, what needs to be added, what needs to be done to embed the video in this case, but I have asked him these questions on his webpage so I’m sure he’ll read them when he gets a chance.
Until then, I wanted to open the question up to all of you. Looking at the embed code I posted, what’s missing? How can I embed videocenter videos like the one I posted here? THIS ISSUE IS STILL UNRESOLVED (for those skimming I want you to see this in case you thought it was based on all the posts and that I don’t still need your help so if you can help resolve it, please do!

I never asserted that the code is incorrect. I said there’s something wrong with the video or the code, and I said that the video URL itself doesn’t work: the video doesn’t load. I tried a couple of other videos from the same site and they worked fine while this one didn’t. This isn’t a WP issue, it’s an issue with the other site, so I cannot possibly know what the issue is – much less correct it.
