HOW DO YOU GET SOMEONE TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION?

I thought someone would get back to me within and hour or two of my post but it’s been up for hours. I’m also now noticing that a lot of posts from weeks ago have only 1 entry (so, no one ever replied to them and weeks passed). What is the process to get someone to respond and how often does it actually happen?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

you need to fix your caps lock key it seems to be stuck – all caps on the internet is rude shouting

no you don’t get instant response in any forum – there is one staff member that normally does the CSS support – he normally check the forum once or twice a day I think – sometimes someone else will help – this is mostly a peer support forum with help provided by your fellow bloggers – if something can’t be handled by the unpaid volunteers it is referred to the staff

Oh, okay- thanks so much for clarifying for me! I’ve seen several where the staff respond and have given some great answers so I guess I was just wondering what their process is in picking which questions to answer and which not to answer.

From what you’re telling me, it sounds like the forum refers questions to the staff if they’re unable to answer it? Is that right? How do you “refer”?

The main question I’m trying to get answered isn’t this one, however! (: Let me see what the title of my question is … I will post the title here so that you can find it and maybe you can help me out …

some of the answers are a bit of luck of the draw – I don’t try and answer questions that i can’t give an accurate answer to – I have seen some questions answered in 5 minutes on occasions – posting many times into a thread every few hours makes it look like you are getting help – better to let a thread site

not a lot of people here use CSS so you are a bit limited on who has the skills to help – I don’t do any CSS so outside of looking at a thread from time to time I don’t even take a shot at it

I used to have a site that used the WordPress.ORG software and I had a useful but bit obscure Plugin – the author of the plugin on checked the forum one a day in the morning – took about a week to get my questions answered – one response every 24 hours

Richard just helped you in your original thread and I expect he gave you a good answer the first time
