How do you get text and photos/images to align correctly?

  • Unknown's avatar

Can’t get photos and text to align correctly. I want a thumbnail and next to it the text link. Then below it another thumbnail and the text link, etc…

What happens is they all jumble together and will not stay where I put them.

  • Hi there!

We have a support page that shows the different ways you can align your images. Just follow this link:

    Align Images With Text

Basically, you want to choose either left or right alignment depending on what side of the page you want your image on. After that, your text will simply wrap around it. :)

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with. :) Thanks!

Thanks. I know how to do this, The problem is: If I put a left aligned photo and two lines of text beside it, then want to put another photo, left aligned under it also with a line of text, no matter how many spaces I put after the text, the photo shifts up into the space where there isn’t text. I want a left-aligned photo with o 1-3 lines of text alongside it, the another below with a couple lines of text.

No matter how it looks when I create it, when I display it, the photos creep into the white space above.

  • Hi,

What I would suggest doing in this case is using the image settings feature to add a caption, which is covered here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-settings/

Then you can use the image alignment link I sent you earlier to put the images side by side.

I know that isn’t exactly what you wanted, but image alignments and text can be very tricky (or just impossible) to get just right, so captions may be better in this situation.

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with. :) Thanks!
