How do you get the plug in to actually appear and do something???
-
I installed the plug in Register Plus Redux. I am probably missing something simple/stupid but I don’t know how to have it work. It has been activated but doesn’t exist as a widget I can pull in. There must be something simple I am missing. How do these things work?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It is not possible to install plugins on WordPress.com, for security reasons. Plugins can only be installed on self-hosted WordPress blogs. If you are wondering how WordPress.com differs from WordPress.org, this support article explains the distinction:

Thank you, that seems to be the information/impression I have been getting. The odd thing is that I have the capacity to upload plug-ins, and activate them but with no logical next step that I can see. If it was like a widget i could go there and find it and use it, but it is like hitting a dead-end after having been encouraged to drive up the street. There is no sign up saying “No Through Road”. It seems pretty simple to barr it in the first place. A number of google posts say that they can’t upload and have no plug in tab in the dashboard, so I was left rather unsure by it all. Thank you for responding. If you have any further comments, I am happy to hear them.

Since you’re dealing with a self-hosted, WordPress.org installation, your best bet is to either go to the WordPress.org community or your hosting provider for support:
