How do you get the twitter widget to work?

  Please help. I’ve been using wordpress since 2009. It used to be easy to get a response. Now I am sitting here waiting… I have been working for hours trying to get the new twitter timeline to work. I have followed the directions and gone to twitter and created the widget and pasted the code into the wordpress widget but nothing changes. Please help.
