How do you get twitter widget to work properly?

My twitter widget is not functioning despite entering correct code into the sidebar.
Please help. Been struggling with this problem for a while.

No, the code I used is the one copied and pasted from twitter as advised from the link given in the sidebar from wordpress. It is:

I’m sorry but we cannot use any JavaScript widgets like that one on free hosted WordPress.com blogs for security reasons. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
