    I did a SEO test on websitegrader.com and found nothing listed for my metadata at http://sichuantraveler.com or http://davidstrege.com. How does one make inserts into the metadata and what should one put there? Thank you. Dave

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    The answer to your question is that wordpress.com is a multiuser blogging platform where we cannot access our metadata here. If we use relevant and appropriate keywords in our blog titles and also create effective taglines then we have done the best we can do.

    Metadata is no longer used by Google. Matt Cutts has made this clear on many occasions It was too easily manipulated and too many unscrupulous webmasters used it to game the system. Remarkably no matter how many times Matt Cutts emphasizes that Google does not use it there are still those who till tell us it’s required when it isn’t.

    Do you mean HTML meta tags? At WordPress.com, we cannot change our HTML, and so cannot set up meta tags.
    But if you search these forums, you’ll see arguments that WordPress.com is still a pretty good place to be from the SEO perspective.
    Note to forum regulars and bots: I’m answering this because one of the blogs to which the OP lists is hosted at WordPress.com.

    @prowriter4hire
    You’re welcome. Andrew is correct wordpress.com SEO is very good.

    If your other blog is a wordpress.org blog then you can access the metadata but you will have to get help over here > http://wordpress.org/support/ because we only provide support for wordpress.com blogs here.
