How do you install the Topspin plugin?
-
Hi there, I am thinking of creating a store page on my blog using the Topspin platform and have found a video showing how to do it, here:

The first step is to download the Topspin plugin, but I can’t seem to find out how to do that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi jrad47, you’re going to run into two problems here:
a) for security reasons, plugins can’t be installed on hosted wordpress.com blogs (which is what you have). These blogs come with a bunch of approved plugin functionality already, and new plugin suggestions can be posted in the Ideas forum.
If your site relies on a certain external plugin, you may be better off purchasing hosting and creating a self-hosted wordpress.org install, where you can add plugins from wherever. Here’s a bit of info on the difference: .com and .org
b) That being said, hosted wordpress.com blogs also don’t allow ecommerce stores on-site. What I would suggest if you want to combine both is this: keep your blog as is, but set up a self-hosted wordpress.org store elsewhere, and connect to it from your blog with a menu link.
There are other ecommerce options for music, as well. What are you looking to sell? Have you considered selling through a service like bandcamp? Might be less setup than running your own store.
