How do you link between pages within blog?

Can someone tell me how to link between pages within my WordPress site? I’m setting up a book and need to know how to link from a manually created index to various pages I’m creating. Also, if you set up a page as suborinate to another, does it require a different kind of URL reference?

However you have a self hosted or web hosted wordpress blog then the support forum you would need to be in is over here http://wordpress.org/support and you would get different answers to your questions because we run on different code bases.
