How do you locate media in media library

  I upload media, then can’t find it. I’m unable to use the [gallery] because I need to display a photograph on several pages. When I’m formatting the href in my anchor, I would think that I would use http://ptlclass.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/williams-jack-barbara.jpg for a photograph that was just uploaded, but I find it at http://ptlclass.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/williams-jack-barbara.jpg. How can I determine where the media is stored? I now do it by attempting every possible date combination (2009/03, 2009/02, 2009/01, 2008/12) then, when I dont get a 404 error, I quit and claim victory. Somehow, I think there is a better way. Help, please.

  I note that the link in my original post (above) works just fine. However, when I use an anchor in the page, I MUST USE this (not the 2008/05 date, this photo was uploaded 3/30/2009):
