How do you make a thumb in Media library a button to specific page?
-
How can I make the thumbs on a page in a [gallery] (or however else I should put them on a page) act as buttons to another specific page.
So far, I can’t find a way to do it.
Do I need a special plugin for this? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can’t assign links to images in a gallery, so you will have to insert the images one at a time as thumbnails. Upload the image, and make your settings and then in the URL field, put the URL of the page or post you want that image linked to and then insert the image.

First: Thank you ‘thesacredpath’
Second: I’ve created a mockup of my site, sort of, at http://www.miamiartsbook.com
The pages are just .jpg’s in the body. No buttons, it’s just a mockup. As you can see, I want a page with a gallery of thumbs of subscribers uploaded pictures. When anyone clicks on one of the thumbs, it takes you to that persons bio page where they have filled in text areas with info about themselves.
I’m not sure which URL field you mean. I think, to get there, I went to Edit Page/Add an Image/Media Library/Show/Link URL. I tried putting the ‘go to’ page URL in the Link URL, but that didn’t work. You probably mean somewhere else?
When you click the thumb, I want to just go to another page, not a page with the full size picture. That’s what is happening now. I assume I just have to put some code into the xhtml of the thumb, but what?
Also, in the xhtml, how do I get the thumbs to line up in rows and columns? Fancy xhtml? That’s why I wanted to go with [gallery] Maybe there is a plugin that does it all for me. I tried NextGEN, but I had the same problem. I couldn’t link the thumbs to another page.
Thanks again for the help.
