How do you make money on wordpress?
-
Hello all!
Is there a way to make money on this website? I’m not really tech savvy, and have been just getting the hang of using this blog and such and I was wondering if there are ways to do this. Is there a way per clicks that you get to your site…or having ads? Do you have to purchase the site? Also if I were to purchase the site and it becomes .com instead of .wordpress.com if someone still types in the original (.wordpress.com) will it still go to the new version .com?
Any input would be appreiciated!
Thanks,
JenThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes that is what domain mapping is for and exactly what it does.

No blogger initiated advertising is allowed on WordPress.com blogs. The only advertising program at WordPress.com is called WordAds and it’s for blogs on their own domains.
We don’t provide support for WordAds here. WordAds Staff provide support on their site. Please see:

http://en.wordpress.com/tos/1. WordPress.com allows bloggers to insert text affiliate links within post and page content to most third-party affiliate programs, provided they are not the primary content of the site in question.
2. Image affiliate links in posts and pages and any banners, affiliate links in sidebar or footer widget areas, are still considered to be advertising and are not allowed on WordPress.com blogs.
NOTE: A self-hosted WordPress site might be right for you. WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, conduct ecommerce and edit the database. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ To hire a web host got to http://wordpress.org/hosting/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.
