How Do You Make Posts Go to Specific Pages/Become Featured Posts?

    So I’m currently working off of the Twenty Fourteen theme to start up my sports blog. Right now I feel like I have everything down pretty well, except for figuring out where my posts go.

    If you look at my blog, I have several pages for different topics. I’m planning on writing about all of those subjects, but want my posts to go to those specific pages. I really don’t want to have them all clustered on one page one by one under each other.

    I have my static front page set to show featured posts.

    My Questions:

    How can I write posts and have it be shown on a specific page? Say I’m writing about college football. I want it to go under the College Football page.

    How can I make that post a “featured post” that goes on my static front page?

    Hi @thefieldsports,

    How can I write posts and have it be shown on a specific page? Say I’m writing about college football. I want it to go under the College Football page.

    Posts can be added to any post category of your choosing e.g. you could create a College Football category and assign it to any posts that fall under that topic.

    It is then possible to add a link to a certain category to a custom menu. So, for example, a link to the College Football category in your custom menu would lead to all posts that you’ve assigned to that category.

    How can I make that post a “featured post” that goes on my static front page?

    The first step to setting this up is to navigate to the Featured Content panel of the WordPress.com Customizer. From there, enter a special name into the Tag name field. I can see that you currently have Featured Stories entered there.

    If you stick with Featured Stories, then the next step is for you to add that as a post tag to posts you wish to feature at the top of your home page.
