How do you put widgets on home page

  Hi,
  Is it possible to put the widgets from my blog posts onto the home page of the blog?

  At the moment you can only see recent posts, blog stats etc when you are viewing an individual blog… I would like to be able to see these widgets on the home page…

  Hi Roger! The theme you’re currently using (Visual) only allows widgets on individual posts and pages, not on the home page. In order to have widgets on the home page, you will need to switch themes. Is that something you would be interested in?

  I would be interested in switching themes
  but dies it mean I would have to buy a new theme?
  Or what do you recommend?

  Howdy Roger,

  You don’t necessarily have to select a Premium theme (ones that cost money). The Triton Lite theme looks like it could work:

  With that theme, you have the option of putting widgets on the bottom of the page.

  Sunspot is another free theme with a sidebar:

  http://sunspotdemo.wordpress.com/

  Pinboard also has the grid look and a left-hand sidebar, but it is a premium theme ($50):

  http://pinboarddemo.wordpress.com/

  Gridspace is another Premium theme that has the grid look with a sidebar as well:

  http://gridspacedemo.wordpress.com/

  Would any of those options work?

  Hi Jeremy,

  I think I will stick with what I have.
  Although I think I purchased Gridspace before.
  I find it difficult to see what exactly I have purchased in my billing history as it just says Premium theme.

  It looks like you did in fact purchase Gridspace for your site portraitroom.wordpress.com. I completely missed that! If you search for the theme at the top of the page here, you should be able to activate it free of charge:

  Can you give that a try?
