how do you search blogs by category?

  sorry for such a potentially naive question, but i cannot figure out how to actually easily navigate through and search the various blogs on wordpress. i want to search the site for various blogs with specific topics or themes, but i cannot find a topics or list of categories that organizes blogs. isn’t there a page that lists all the blogs by type or category? also, is there any page that gives info like top 10 blogs by popularity, etc.?
