How do you set hyperlinks to open in a new tab or window?
-
I am having trouble getting hyperlinks to open in another window without right-clicking. I don’t want the reader to navigate away from my page when they utilize a link. How do I code or format the page to force links to open in another tab or window?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy!
Within a Page or Post, simplest thing to do is use the Visual Editor and follow the steps in this guide to create a link:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/links/#creating-links
Then click the “Open Link in a New Window/Tab” option while creating the link.
Are you creating links elsewhere where you need the option of opening it in a new window?

Thanks a lot! I am not creating links elsewhere, I would just rather not force readers to navigate away from my page to see additional information. I am using links to support my information but don’t want to make it any harder than necessary for users to view my content.
Is there a way to set that up as a default so that I don’t have to edit each link individually?

Glad that’s what you were looking for. :)
Adding this to things like Menu links is just a little tougher, but it can be done.
Is there a way to set that up as a default so that I don’t have to edit each link individually?
I could be wrong, but I believe when creating a new link, it defaults to whatever was selected on the last created link. (So if I check it while creating link A, when I create link B it will already be checked.)
But for links already created, you’ll need to go back edit the links manually. I do apologize for that trouble.
