How does Akismet determine spam

  I am new at understanding spam. How does Akismet determine spam? Some of my comments just seem too real to be tagged as spam by Akismet. Right now any comments made by someone I do not know is being tagged as spam by Akistmet. How can I learn more about spam?

  Hi there,

  The actual inner workings of Akismet are not something which I can go in to, as its functionings are a company secret. You can however train Akismet as to what is or is not spam.

  As messages come in that definitely are or definitely are not spam, you can label them as such in your comments page by clicking the appropriate links. Akisment will learn from what you label and over time those messages will not need to be adjusted by you!
