How Does Can I get the Blog of the Minute?

I am curious how to appear on the blog of the minute, or today’s hot blog, hot posts? Is it based on the number of hits or what?

Not long ago I made it one day onto all those lists after putting a link to one of my posts on Reddit brought in about 400 views. A few days ago I did the same thing and got about 1000 views, but didn’t make any of the lists. Go figure. :-/

Well, if you use the Porn tag you’re automatically excluded, even if the rest of your blog is not Mature. And I suspect, but don’t know for sure that it’s the same for the Sex tag. And Fastest Growing has a time factor that the others don’t, so it could be “most hits in an hour” or “biggest improvement as a percentage”. I made it into Fastest Growing twice, with under a hundred hits. disembedded made it with 32,000 hits.

Agreed. Even if it seems like a lot, 1k views probably won’t make it onto the posts list. Top 100 maybe but I don’t think it will be high enough to hit the top 10.
Probably hit the top 100 blogs though.

It would be nice to have some way to know when you’re blog had made it to any of those lists. I’ve made “fastest growing” a couple of times but only knew because my blog stats showed someone clicked on my blog from there.

That’s exactly how you know. If you make the list, you WILL get clickthroughs, right away. You also get trackback links that show up on the specific post that makes Top Posts, although they sometimes don’t show up for a few days.
