How does one display a link within text widget?

On the WP support page: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/ it states :”You can use a text widget to display text, links, images, HTML, or a combination of these.”
How does one display a link within text widget?

Hi Evenlyn,
You can use HTML to display a link in a text widget, or if you don’t know HTML you can use the post editor to create the link code for you. We also have a guide for doing that here: Text Widget Links
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)

Hi Rachel,
Thank you! That is really cool. I’ll get working on it now and, as always, appreciate your quick and informative, response.

You’re very welcome, Evelyn. :) Just let me know if you have any questions once you give it a try. (And sorry for the typo I made with your name in my reply earlier!)

It worked!
I didn’t understand the difference between HTML and CSS and thought I was not allowed to do any coding and that meant HTML too.
So, as it turns out, it was as important for me to know that I may use HTML as to also have a solution to this particular issue – so thanks for the great explanation. Now i can also do “bold” “italics” etc….if I wish for text in the widgets.
I’ll mark this as “happily” resolved :)
