How does one get a ‘overview’ of people on WordPress?

    I’d like to have greater ‘random access’ to the blogging community on WordPress, ie. see ‘front pages’ in a consecutive, and/or alphabetically fashion – to increase viewing/reading pleasure and to explore. Find the tabs stymie interest and don’t really get me to where I want to be going…Is there some sort of ‘master directory’ that I can access, tap into to just ‘look around’? Advise welcome.     The link on your username is “broken”. It does not link to a wordpress.com blog so perhaps you’d like to fix it.

    Well, wordpress.com takes our blogger confidentiality very seriously and keeps our personal information “private”. There are many “private” blogs here that you will not be able to access.

    There is no “master list” or usernames or of blogs that we bloggers can access and I give thanks for that every day because it would be a perfect “spammers’ tool”.

    You can find wordpress.com blogs based on the subject matter by using the wordpress.com tag pages. Simply change the last word to reflect the category you are interested in http://wordpress.com/tags/cooking

    You can also use google blog search
    cooking site:wordpress.com
    cooking site:wordpress.com

    On the front of your blog on the far right side of the navigation bar you will also find a next blog arrow -> so you can view public blogs on a random basis.

    As well as the tag pages, there’s always the list of ‘latest posts’ in your dashboard, the ‘next blog’ arrow on your navbar and the featured posts on the front page. But with a multilingual community of half a million active blogs any kind of ‘master directory’ would be both a massive drain on resources and of very limited use.
