How does someone access a password protected page?

    I’m creating a simple website for a friend, who wants it private till it’s ready to launch. However, I’d like another friend to see it, because she’s interested in me doing the same thing for her.

    I was working with a private site, but a few minutes ago I tried making the site public but making all the pages private, except one which is password-protected. I then logged out and visited the protected page.

    I saw the menu for my page with an ‘Oops’ message, but no option to enter the password and see the page.

    How can I invite someone to see it?

    (I’ve reset the whole site as private for now, btw.)
