How does someone else find my blog?
-
I thought if they just put my username in the search box it would come up but it doesn’t. How does someone else find my blog on wordpress.com?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Without a link to your blog, I’m not sure how old/new your blog is. At some point of maturity, putting your username into a search engine might bring up your site. It’s always best to provide a link, starting with http:// so we can provide accurate answers. Or better, link your name to your blog. That has benefits to you in the forum and also when you comment on other people’s blogs:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/7-things-to-know-before-posting-in-wordpresscom-forums?replies=1If you have a wp.COM blog, then you should be adding tags and categories to your posts. That is how other wp.com users find you. And the global tags let search engines find your work!

If I understand you correctly, since I added the tag “chickens”, typing that word into the search bar should bring my blog up among the others with that tag. But it doesn’t.
Forgot to identify my blog in my last post: http://polloplayer.wordpress.com/
I’ve sent invites from my dashboard to people, but because my username is not familiar to them they tend to delete them as junk mail, so it’s better if there’s a way for people to come to WP.com and search me out from there.
Thanks.

Blog more and Google will love you. It takes time to develop visibility and googlejuice, so continue blogging and be patient.

The other thing I’d note is that you are not actually adding categories or tags to your posts! You can use up to 12 cats+tags per post.
http://support.wordpress.com/posts/post-categories/When you write (or edit) a post, you should add some categories and tags to each (using the modules in the edit window), so that people (and search engines) can find you! By the way, it appears that the only tags you have added to any post are only the two: “chicken coop” and “chicken”

http://support.wordpress.com/posts/post-tags/And: Your [default] categories widget is showing just one category called “1.” Not very helpful for your development of a blog being found by readers interested in your topic. You deleted “uncategorized” [default setting] but did not specify a new default category. You must specify a default category or wordpress will continue to make default categories named with obscure numbers.
dashboard -> settings -> writing settings -> “Default Post Category” -> choose a default category of your ownCategories and tags on wordpress are very powerful tools, so it is worth your time to study the ways to make use of them.
Hope this helps and best wishes.
