How does WordPress' Site Redirect effect SEO?

  Does WordPress’ Site Redirect (http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/) work the same way as a 301 redirect? I’d like to keep my SEO links when redirect to a new site and wanted to double check if anyone has done this.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  SEO is what you do to optimize your blog content. You sound confused about that as it sounds like you are talking about page ranking and search results positioning. Is that the case here?

  According to these 2 WordPress.com News articles, WordPress.com uses a 301 (permanent) redirect:

  Having said that, the note at the bottom of the site redirect upgrade Support doc says

  The site redirect upgrade will not work for URLs that do not have the same permalink structure as your posts on WordPress.com.
