How fast could I switch m y email connection from my OLD un used website to my new WORDPRESS site?
-
I am a poet with many published books, and at 78 yrs. of age, slow learning techie moves. In March, 2014 my WORDPRESS site was launched, but my paid ‘helper’ could not figure out how to switch my email to this new site. So Digitiallyhip of Bowen Island — old host — added a link, but would/or could not connect my webmail to my new site.
1.) I think I owe WORDPRESS $13. for mapping existing domain…..
and now 2.) I am asked by Digitallyhip for another $71.00 and taxes to maintain my webmail link for another year.
Thank you for any help you may be able to give me. I paid for a site/ not a blog. Bernice LeverThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there Bernice!
If you would like, we could set up email forwarding here. That would send your email directly to your hotmail account. You can then answer your email from hotmail (although it will display your @colourofwords.com email address, not your hotmail address).
You don’t need to pay for outside email hosting anymore, if you want to use email forwarding. For more information about email forwarding:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-forwarding/
Because you have an external email host currently, those settings have been configured here at WordPress.com. If you choose to use email forwarding instead, we can delete those settings. I’m happy to help with this, or you could ask your ‘helper’ to delete these settings in the My Domains are of your Dashboard:
https://colourofwords.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains
You will still have to pay your domain registrar to host your domain name, colourofwords.com. Otherwise, you will lose that custom domain. If you lose the custom domain, you cannot set up email forwarding.
You can continue to use the $13 mapping to connect your domain to your WordPress.com site.
I hope this helps, and is clear, if you have any questions at all, or if you need assistance, please let me know.
