How fix VideoPress settings so I can use post-edit page to upoad & post videos.
-
I have purchased the $60 Videopress upgrade (rvanabbema.wordpress.com) in order to upload videos which will play on my self-hosted site: http://spirited-thinking.com. I have installed and activated the video press plugin. When I choose Post-Edit, I do not have an icon which brings the VideoPress page. Nor do I see “Video Press is Go” as shown in the the “Videopress for self-hosted WordPress–Self Start Guide”? I do see a little “Videopress” icon with an arrow. If I use it to select a video from my computer file, the file transfer from my computer goes to 100%, but when done, there is no video, no shortcode to put in the post, there is nothing. Why do I not see the proper icon? Are my WordPress or VideoPress settings wrong? How can I fix this and start uploading videos and putting them in posts?

After posting the above question, I realized I have not received any email or other notification that I purchased the WordPress upgrade, even though the $60 charge is on my credit card. Has my upgrade not been activated?

Hi there,
We are in the process of improving the VideoPress plugin. For now, I recommend just uploading through your WordPress.com Dashboard, then embed using shortcode with the Jetpack plugin enabled instead of the VideoPress plugin.
