If you would like to monetize your site, first there must be enough content and decent traffic on site (visitors).
WordPress has designed a program called WordAds which can help you do that.
WordAds is the official WordPress.com advertising program available for site owners. The program features ads from external ad networks such as Google, Facebook, AOL, and more.

Please note that you need to have either Premium or Business WordPress plan in order to monetize your blog.

Just to clarify: WordPress.com Premium and Business owners are indeed automatically accepted for WordAds. However, any WordPress.com site with a custom domain can apply to participate in the program. Sites will be accepted if they have enough traffic.
@myrohitverma: If you register a custom domain to your site but don’t wish to upgrade to Premium or Business, then I recommend checking out the guidance here to increase traffic to your site, to maximise your chances of being approved for the WordAds program.
You would also still be able to follow some of the other methods for monetising your site listed in this doc without upgrading to WordPress.com Premium or Business, although both of those plans do unlock some more advanced options.
