How I can make customers go back to the last visited page in my shop pagination?

On my shop page if a customer for instance is on the 4th page in pagination and clicks on a product on the same page. After viewing the product, When he clicks on the browser back button he’s returning to page 1 in the shop pagination. How I can make the customer go back to the last visited page which is 4 in pagination?
