how I can modify my domain name ?

  Hi,

  I’ve buy my own domain name, supadope.fr

  How I can make appear “http://www.supadope.fr” instead of only “http://supadope.fr” ?

  Could you help me to do this ? My domain’s name provider, Amen.fr, tells me that I’ve to see this with you.

  We actually strip out the www. for convenience.

  www is an old protocol from back when everything was under a separate server. www (www.example.com) was the web server, mail (mail.example.com) was the mail server, ftp (ftp.example.com) was the FTP server, print (print.example.com) was the print server, etc.

  These days, everything is run under the web server, making www. redundant and a waste of four characters.

  Ok, I understand.

  For the mainly people, www is always associated to websites. So there’s no way to obtain a www. in our webpages ?

  No, www will always be stripped from the domain, but those accessing http://www.supadope.fr/ will be redirected to http://supadope.fr/

  If I give to people http://www.supadope.fr, there will be directly goes to my website.
