  You can have just part of your article show on the homepage by using the “read more” tag. Here’s the guide for that: https://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag/

  Another option is by using excerpts, though how they are displayed on your homepage varies according to the theme you’re using. More info is available here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/excerpts/

  The summary that you marked controls how much of your post a follower will see when viewing your post with a feed reader or in their email.
