  For switching from annual to monthly payments, you will need to contact support as explained in this documentation.

  Please note that choosing a yearly plan offers significant savings, especially if you plan to keep your site active for an extended period.

  As for your question about domains, you can definitely set up a custom domain later if you’d prefer to focus on that at a different time. Your site will work just fine with the default WordPress.com address in the meantime.
