how i change from ".wordpress.com" URL to".com" ?

I know that this can be connected somehow but i don’t know what to do…
i registered/hosted a website with hostgator before few minutes. i have a blog here on wordpress that i want to be diplayed on the site. how can i connect it?
what i mean is: i have imagesmile.wordpress.com. i bought the domain imagesmile.com from hostgator.com how can i take out the .wordpress.com part of my blog and to be seen at my imagesmile.com domain? i want to make the blog professional and be seen on my site/domain i registered.
