Hi there!
The process is pretty simple actually. It involves EXPORTING all your content, as described here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/If your blog is very large (about 15 MB or greater), you may have to export it in parts.
Sorry you are leaving us. If you need help once you get into the self hosted wilds, there is a similar forum over at:
https://en.forums.wordpress.orgBest of luck,

This person has a duplicate thread. They have upgrades. They need to deal with their domain mapping which has expired. Please click “member” under every username and read what you find before posting into any thread.

Oh!
It occurred to me that you might be asking where to get the actual WordPress files if you have your own web server in a closet and want to use it to run your site. If you have your very own web server, you can get the WordPress files here:
https://wordpress.org/download/If you have signed up with a hosting company and want your WordPress blog there, they should have WordPress already, or you can ask their support folks to install it for you.
Hope that helps!

Read what I said here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-i-go-about-getting-the-files?replies=4#post-2897387and know that I have tagged both threads for Staff intervention.
After the domain is dealt with this person will be able to use this step by step guide Moving to self hosted WordPress. https://move.wordpress.com

re: renewing upgrades
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard, renew or cancel any upgrades, claim a refund for any qualified upgrades, and disable auto-renew. Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades.
If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into another account.
If you do not have the required access and someone else registered the site you need to contact the person who registered the account and site under it and have them transfer the sites and upgrades to your username account.

Hi again, the domain isn’t registered with us, so you won’t have to restore anything. And no need to renew domain mapping unless you want it.
You will just want to point the domain to your new host when everything is set up there.
Enjoy your weekend, all :)
