How I stop new page opening with audio player
-
I have tried unsuccessfully to get the audio player to open up within the page that the link is on. I uploaded to box and then pasted url. this semi worked but opened on a quicktime page. Have tried several different ways as seen on forum, the latest was pasting link into HTML section of editor. On doing so just the URL shows but not linked, and nothing happened
I want to be able to open the page and clidk on link to play but stay on the same page
I also want to be able to open a page and the music start automatically?
What am I doing wrong?
thanks, carol

Can you give us a link to where this is happening? I don’t see any audio on your front page.
And AFAIK, there is no way for music to start automatically here at wordpress.COM

I could not find this page thanks for thread link, this is why I posted another question.
Realised I was using the wrong brackets.
Now I see the audioplayer which is great
But now it shows Buffering and nothing happens
this is the link to the page

You can always find your own posts here in the forums one of two ways. First, when you come to the forums, you’ll see at the top “Welcome, carolg1849!” Click on your user name and you will see all of the threads you have commented in. Second, if you are in a thread (like this one), you can click on the word “Member” under your name and it will take you to the same page.

Don’t know if this helps but I was having the same problem, I just installed this Audio Player plug-in from Martin Laine:
uploaded it, went into /settings/audio player checked the box that said “replace all links to MP3 files” and when I went back to my posts which previously opened in Quicktime in a new window now they have a lovely little standalone player for each one.
thanks.

No, it doesn’t help. We can’t use plugins here at wordpress.COM Please take a look at this sticky at the top of the forums: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/please-read-me-first-before-posting?replies=1

I would like to get MP3 files contained within the Media Library to play as a small ‘player” rather than as a link. I see that Carol (earlier in this thread) has done this on her page http://carolgearing.com/music-that-moves-me/
Could somebody give a few step-by step instructions on how to generate the little music player?
Many thanks!!!!
