How is it not possible to have different font sizes in a block?

    Say after a link to a file a want to add the info in smaller font size, I have to know html to do that? Or in East Asian culture for respectful reasons I sometimes need to increase font size of the addressee’s name and decrease the size of my own name. Who came up with this great idea of removing such a basic functionality that has been around in text editors and website makers since maybe the 1990s?
