How is it possible to have entering links from Facebook if I didn't put any link

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,
I can’t find the answer to this question:
My statistics page shows that there have been some incoming links from Facebook.
But, I didn’t put any link to my WP page on the Facebook. How is this possible then?
Does this mean that somebody else put a link to my page on Facebook?
If so, how can I visualise this link? (I’d like to see where it is published)
And, how can I see more precisions about the origins of the incoming clicks.

    Thanks
    LL

    Hi LL,

Yes, that means that someone has shared your blog or one of your blog posts on Facebook.

It appears that link was manually shared on Facebook. However, if someone uses your Sharing buttons at the bottom of your posts, you can find your Share stats via your “Totals, Followers, & Shares” module from your Site Stats page.

    Hi,
thanks for your response, but I actually haven’t got any of these buttons on the bottom of my posts.
So, I suppose, this means somebody copied the address of one of my posts and just pasted it somewhere on facebook?
In that case, I can’t have any further information than the number of clicks coming from some facebook page, right?
    Thanks again.
    Luca

    Hi Luca,

Right, that means someone manually shared your post on Facebook. Unfortunately, it currently isn’t possible to get additional information on who shared this post.

    Well, thanks anyhow!
    Have a nice Valentine’s day.
