How is it safe to blog on wordpress.com

I have tried asking this question on the forums, but my question never gets answered. I am wondering how is it safe to blog on wordpress.com since they’re not GDPR compliant and since they’re not your users even if from the US will be sent to prison.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Our tools offer GDPR compliance, but it’s also up to the webmaster to comply.
Did you read this document fully? It explains how site owners can be GDPR compliant with the tools we have provided.
If you’re doing things that fall outside the scope of that document, or if you are not sure whether what you are doing is GDPR compliant, you’ll need to check in with a lawyer.
